The government of Querétaro announced the creation of the International Police Training Academy, the first of its kind in Mexico and in Latin America. In his statement, U.S. diplomat Ronald Johnson was thanked by his government and for the trust placed in the state to host this project, which has an investment of ten million dollars earmarked for training and equipment in security matters.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the United States has handed over to Mexico more than three hundred detainees, a figure that is complemented by the transfer of more than three hundred fifty fugitives according to data published by Ambassador Johnson. In addition, the same diplomat reported on his X account that during the administration of President Donald Trump twenty additional deliveries were added to the cumulative total. The Governor of Querétaro, Kuri, highlighted the close cooperation between his government and that of the United States, emphasizing that the collaboration translates into financial resources and in the capture of wanted individuals, which strengthens regional security.

With the launch of the academy, it is expected that Mexican police officers will receive internationally standard training and modern equipment, which will help improve responses to crime and deepen binational collaboration on security matters.
